Welcome to SCUBA Dive Travel Life – a blog resource for all aspects of SCUBA dive travel. Written for SCUBA divers who travel, want to travel, or dream of traveling to locations near and far, both exotic and close to home.
As a SCUBA diver, and a travel agent, I want others to benefit from my training and experiences – the good, the bad and the downright ugly (ugly in my case is bugs - and I’m not talkin’ lobsters here.) Of course, I’d love to book you the SCUBA travel trip of a lifetime, or even reserve that short jaunt for you when you get the fin-jitters to get back underwater, but it’s more important to me that you have relevant information that will make each and every scuba dive travel trip the trip of a lifetime.
I know that it takes more than just a great reef and warm water to make a SCUBA travel trip a success. Everything comes into play – the location of course, but also the resort, the dive shop, the dive staff, the service, the food, the local culture, even geography (to cave dive or not to cave dive) all play a part. Logistics need to be factored in – travel time, airports (or lack thereof,) transportation, what gear and how to get it there (no dive knives in the carry-on bag, please,) language and currency, even weather patterns can make or break your SCUBA dive travel experience. And then there’s that ole’ party crasher, the budget.
So, giant stride on in to SCUBA Dive Travel Life. The water is great and the vis is thousands of miles, and a daydream away, to your next dive travel trip.
